TAPCCO has designed a counseling program with Ethiopian traditional coffee ceremony at the ward and at the home three times a week for parents to share their concerns, learn about childhood cancer, nutrition, hygiene and other related issues. TAPCCO from its existence has given service to over 4,000 parents in this program. It also give individual counseling to parents about the importance of following the treatment properly and not losing hope, or any issues that they want to talk about. A parent currently our board member said, “My mind went blank when I was told my child has cancer, had it not been to TAPCCO counselor, I would have not make it this far and see my child get well”. TAPCCO values the counseling support highly and regard it as the center of all its activities.
